Worldwide TechServices Lends a Helping Hand to Local Non-Profit
RARA (Remarkable, Active, Resilient Adults)

Corporate giving policy embraces special needs organizations

TEWKSBURY, Mass., May 3, 2011 — Employees at Worldwide TechServices do more than provide IT service across the globe; they give back to their local communities as well.  Worldwide TechServices, an international leader in delivering technology services and solutions, with its 2400 locations and 3000 technicians have embraced the company’s corporate giving policy with an emphasis on special needs organizations.  The corporate office has taken Lowell-based RARA (Remarkable, Active, Resilient Adults) under its wing with its employees’ commitment to volunteer, make donations and provide support to members of this community.

“Worldwide TechServices employees’ have opened their hearts to our clients and we are extremely thankful for all that they do to support RARA,” said RARA Board President Pauline King.

Founded in 1968, RARA is a small, non-profit organization that works to promote public awareness and understanding of the life enhancing needs and issues specific to the developmentally challenged and their families.  Through their day, evening and weekend programs and resources, RARA provides clients with access to social, recreational, educational and pre-vocational opportunities.

When given the option to select an organization to sponsor, Worldwide TechServices’ employees quickly decided to support RARA.  “It was an easy decision to make,” said Dov Horowitz, President and CEO of Worldwide TechServices.  “We believe that companies should give back to their communities and our employees’ devotion to RARA is a great example of how we give back.”

In September of 2010, Worldwide TechServices’ first fundraising event, “Dress Down for Charity,” raised $850.  Since then, the company has held additional “Dress Down” days as well as organized book and food drives.  In January several employees helped set up decorations and served food at the RARA annual New Year’s dance and employees continue to help at the weekly bowling event.

“Giving is a natural part of our culture here at Worldwide TechServices and our relationship with the men and women at RARA exemplifies the kindness of all our employees,” continued Horowitz.
