In a recent announcement, Dell Technologies has revealed it has entered into a multi-year partnership with General Electric (GE) that establishes Dell Tech as GE’s primary IT infrastructure supplier.
As part of this deal, GE will integrate hardware and services from Dell EMC, Dell Technologies’ Infrastructure Solution Group. This integration will include servers, redundancy services, and end-user computing for GE’s 295,000 employees around the world.
The news further solidifies Dell’s incredibly strong position in the industry. Not only does it deepen its relationship with GE, GE Digital works with Dell IoT Solutions to explore projects in industrial IoT but it means that Dell now provides technology for 98% of Fortune 500 companies
This partnership is seen as another major milestone for Dell, which just celebrated its one-year anniversary since its billion dollar merger with EMC Corporation. This merger turned the resulting Dell Technologies into one of the largest privately held companies in the world. It also comes shortly after Dell released its recent financial results with a 16% year-over-year increase in Dell EMC’s server and network revenue.
